I'm running out of time to place my order. Planning to visit my dealer to order Friday enroute to Maple Camp.

Preferences: Blue/white, LTX, better/adjustable
shocks

RTX LE $12,800 has the color, shocks, throw in a 1.7" track, but lacking the LTX length

LTX SE $11,900has color, LTX length, OK skid shocks, incorrect front shocks

LTX DX $11,400 has LTX length, heated seat, OK shock pkg wrong color

So I have to "settle" for something close.

RTX LE cannot be made to match all, but if I can give up the LTX length there's nothing that I need to change.

LTX SE I can get probably $500 for the front shocks. I'd then have $1400 to spend on fronts but still have mediocre rears and lesser track.

LTX DX I could go red, change panel color with some difficulty, and could either ride on the coil overs or upgrade the shocks

I've pretty much come down to the RTX LE, but will I miss having the LTX length? Color is becoming most critical.

Why couldn't they just give us 3 simple options: Color, shocks, track?

Ordering a new truck is SO much easier...

The 1.7 track should make up for shorter length of the 129. I have the 129 and I am quite happy with it and it only has the ripsaw 2 on it. If it were me I would go with the better shock package on the RTX LE. Just my 2 cents.

X2
I feel the 129" gives you more adjustability. If want a ton of transfer no problem. Want front planted. Easy. With those shocks you should be able to sno x one day and ride with kids next. I also was very happy with my 129 off trail. It was very easy to get on top snow even with the ripsaw ii.

The 137 just does not seem to have the option to have the transfer you can in the 129. This is great if handling in the corners is your main priority.

So I wonder if the 1.7 will be the 1/2 bar staggered style like they had at the show or the new 3 lug 2 lug like on Camoplast site? My luck they'll have a new improved model and Yamaha stocked up on the old ones.

rtx le better shocks plus there isnt much difference in lenght

Like I said in a different post, there is only two to two and a half inches more track on the ground between the ltx and rtx. That's one lug! The 1.7 in. will more than make up for that in deeper snow. Now if it was a 121 skid to a 137 skid then there would be something to think about. Have fun with your decision.

sled

When I test drove both LTX and RTX I prefered the 129 track vs the LTX. I felt the LTX pushed a bit and the 129 handled better IMO.

Tough decision TD......

Well I do like to play a bit (if my body can still take it) and like to pop around a bit off of drifts and carry over rises in the trail so it sounds like the RTX will do a better job of transferring like I need it to.

On ltx when I was busting drifts I went over handle bars because it wouldn't carry skis over to the next one

Well I lied. I did not stop on Friday I went right to the cabin to start the RO processing sap. I called dealer and told him I'd be using a card for down payment and I'd follow up on Monday.

I just got of the phone with him and it's a done deal. I added another 2 yrs to the warranty. I have another week for the Doo order...
