I need to jack up the front end of my Apex so I can take the skis off to install my Bergstrom triples. I don't have any fancy sled lift.

Can I use a standard car jack somewhere up front safely. I would hate to punch a hole in something with the weight of the sled. I tried lifting it up to place on some blocks and it's heavier than I remember. :)

put a piece of 2x4 across the belly pan between the skis about 8-12 inches long, put the floor jack in the center and both skis will lift easily.

By standard car jack, do you mean a floor jack?

That is what I use but I also have a flat piece of fence board that I use on top of the jack and it goes the full width of the belly pan to help distribute the weight.

I raise it near the back of the belly pan just in front of the heat exchanger as it seems like the most sturdiest/robust place to do so.

Good luck.
(Edit:You can my piece of wood in this pic and the location)

Thanks for the tips. I was able to get my skis off without an issue using this method and the underside seems to be unharmed.

Always great advice here for me and my less than stellar mechanical skills.
