I'm the new owner of SteveO 's sidewinder that chewed grapes in the chaincase.
In the process of gathering parts to put humdy back together, figured I'd rip out the new PEER bearings that came in the new chaincase.
Could someone post a higher quality bearing that should be in there.
Both bearings, Jackshaft and drive shaft numbers.
Thanks.

Chain case side:
Stay away from bearings made in China, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc.
- Upper bearing in chain case is 6206 open (no seals. This bearing has a seal behind it just like bottom bearing. Oil from chain case lubricates it).
- Lower bearing is 6009 open. Again, it has a seal behind.
- Jackshaft bearing is 6206-2RS C3.
- Track shaft bearing is 6009-2RS C3.

The jack shaft bearing behind the secondary is a Koyo specialty bearing made just for Yamaha I believe, if you get the 6206-2RS C3 from a job shop or similar, the ID @30mm will be too large, so unfortunately you will need to order from dealer/Yam.
Has to do with the ID of the Secondary clutch being an oddball size approx 28.2mm.
Being a Koyo bearing I decided to clean and repack with grease and will do so yearly similar to the Apex.
Cheers

I agree with @Nasty1 ... add this to the FAQ section.Chain case side:
Clutch side:
- Upper bearing in chain case is 6206 open (no seals. This bearing has a seal behind it just like bottom bearing. Oil from chain case lubricates it).
- Lower bearing is 6009 open. Again, it has a seal behind.
Buy Japanese or German ball bearings such as NSK, Koyo, Nachi. SKF, FAG, Timken.
- Jackshaft bearing is 6206-2RS C3.
- Track shaft bearing is 6009-2RS C3.
Stay away from bearings made in China, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc.

Koyo is fine. Made in Japan.
Must be Yamaha Sidewinder has a different bearing behind secondary than Cat? If so, I made a bad assumption. The bearing numbers I gave are for Cat chassis. Sorry.

This is my old sled & an old friend, Crazy Mike.
Well at least he "looks" older then me.
The irony of this whole thing is he traded in his POO that this same sled towed to get the nickname Tow Mater.
WARNING: Please rebuild correctly cuz the 600 will not TOW!
P.S: The saying is "Frozen Grapes in a Blender"
P.S2: It's HUMPTY........................damn Newbie's

Update::
Just measured the Bearing ID on the Drive clutch side of Jackshaft the ID 28mm
The Bearing ID on the chain case side is 30mm
These are measurements off my old 2017 Jackshaft.
Awaiting the new jackshaft to arrive, if the sizes are different from listed above I'll post an update.

Yes, chain case side is a 6206 open. 30mm ID x 62mm OD x 16mm width. Winders have a special bearing behind the secondary clutch. Cat has a standard 6206-2RS there.

Yes only Yamaha and yes on back order . At least that I could find. Stupid why they would do that.
What isn't on backorder from Yamaha? I bought a 2021 GP 1800R SVHO Waverunner and ordered parts for it before even taking delivery. Everything on backorder!
