For the people that have installed the bigger wheels does it make your sled roll a lot better. If it does it should make it easier on gas and faster on topend. Thinking about doing it sometime in the future.

I don't know if the larger wheels roll any better, or add to top end.

I do know the larger wheels reduce track howl, reduce slide wear, makes my sled more dependable, and certainly more durable for long distance riding.

I am sure other members will also agree.

This subject IMO is one area where Yamaha needs to make major improvements.

Bottom line: Adding a set of better quality wheels adds a lot of "peace of mind" when riding.

Hope this helps! ;)!

Full rubber wheels will reduce track howl, not the size. As a matter of fact, the wheels are the guys that induce the noise...Aka..the dozer effect. I went to the yam accessory assorted grey wheels which are the same size as the original & i did too noticed an improovement. The second noise improovement i got was when i swapped my 2005 rails for the 2006 the ones that have an extra pick for 4 more wheels at the back.... same treatment.. 4 full rubber in extra; and noise reduction with it. More pressure per wheels you get, more chance of noise induction you have for the same temp/snow condition. You add wheels, then you decrease pressure per wheels. If you read the history here, then you find several comments about the poo wheels user that believe the noise get worst as the slider wear. For me, the imbalance between the wheels pressure versus sliders occurs when the slides are all used up and so i must change anyway.. for the poo wheels user, it may just be right there when slides are new then get worst from there. Don't get me wrong here.... these are better than the originals, that for sure... but i am not convinced yet, the bigger is better apply for this case. I am getting 7000 km with my actual set of slides at this time & expect another 3000 at least; but i ride with a fully opened & clipped Ripsaw.

2 more cents; happy riding.

i replaced all 6 inside wheels with the exact fit kimpex wheels, and the 2 rear most outside wheels with the kimpex, and it made a huge differance
