Define "best"?
Schmidt Brothers has nice offerings as well. And you can get replacement bearings for them at any auto parts store...

Compare prices and then decide. It's a no brainer, and the bearings for the X wheels are available any where.Port Snowman said:Define "best"?

Wasn't knocking on Excell or their products, if I came off that way, I'm sorry. There's more choices is all I was saying.

I have a 2010 XTX and the first set of hyfax went 1800 miles and the second set is at 1000 miles which includes my grass drags and only shows some wear should get another 1000 miles out of them I did install 2 extra wheels and 2 small wheels up in the front. I show most of my wear in the back.

i have polaris wheels on my phazer with 2000 miles on my hyfax. it's about a bigger wheel, doesn't matter who's wheel it is - just bigger.

There's more benefit here also than just "hyfax wear".
Before I added the Schmidt Brothers kit, when my sled is parked facing downhill on the incline of my driveway, if I have the casters under my skis, but the track resting on the ground, my sled would stay put without the parking brake applied. Now it will roll free. There's less resistance. I also notice it when riding on hardpack. There's less resistance. And I think that is going to help gas mileage as well as top speed. Also if you ever need a tow back to camp, it's going to be easier on the towing sled...

You know you just made me realize something. On our last ride I burned way less gas than the 600 polaris that I'm usually identical too. Usually we burned the same for the ride we were on but this time I burned almost 8 liters less. Could there really be that much less rolling resistance to cause that?

I think it's entirely possible. I do have the add-on wheels at the "curve".
My sled moves easier now than it did before, there's simply no question...
I replaced all the stockers, the inboard and outboard...
