Knock Light Causes

Air bubbles in fuel line.
The clear hose is put on just to pump gas out of tank into a gas can and noticed it had air in fuel after about 3 seconds of pumping.

Pulled my gauge out of tank and pick up lines are where they should be.
Rerouted fuel return line to tank.
Purchased fuel return elbow and grommet from yamaha.
Bought fuel injection 1/4" fuel line and two clamps. Removed fuel pump assy. Drilled half inch hole in pump cap. Be cafefull not to drill line.

No snow yet. If it doesn't then a new pump will be going in. Above half tank i didn't have any bubbles just straight fuel, so thats what led me to this.

Last season during local snow drags, my Winder acted like it ran out of fuel in one of the heats...scarry on a wide open hard pull!
-about 1/3 tank of fuel
-300 tune
-98 octane fuel
The sled ran fine for the remainder of the winter and never repeated the fuel starvation behavior. The Hurricane knock system likely saved the engine.
I was very concerned with this so I installed a high volume fuel pump, fuel regulator, and rerouted the fuel return line to over the fuel pump slipper.
I have been riding the sled a bit this year and everything is working good.

I did the same, the only thing that concerns me with that set up is the $hitty little plastic screws that hold the reservoir on. That bigger fuel pump was a tight fit to say the least!

Before I used to get knock light on the 270 tune on just about every ride.
I cut the spacers down on the clamps between the throttle bodies and head.
Also rerouted my fuel return line to top of pump.
I have not seen a knock light this year except at start up when it goes thru the start up process.
Running ss240 thru 300 header tunes.
Very happy with no knock!

Same here!! So far so good. I.was running 300 yesterday dialing in my new stm primary. I got knock on first pass but weights were too heavy reving.at 82-8300. Lightened up weights and no knock the rest of the day

i'm also chasing a knock problem, cut the spacer on the clamp yesterday and looking at adding the return fuel line, i still have the red return join, ordered the black one. what did you guys did with the oem hole on the top of the tank?

I used a rubber grommet style plug with Ultimate Platinum RTV sealant.

still trying to figure out my knock light problem. 2017 BTX running TD powertrail, out of hood CAI, 3 inch exhaust, turbosmart BOV, dalton DTYA 1, now empty but will installer back first size of weigh as i see 9100 rpm.

Fixed the clamp between the throttle body and engine, no boost leak at 18 psi. empty 2 week old gas for 21 liter of fresh 91 shell with one small bottle of torco that suppose to give me 95 octane. track is tight. and i still see the damn red light. i'm running out of idea. i see 18 psi on my cheap boost gauge and 16.5 psi on the display. running stock bar sensor.

Cai's outside the hood have been known to lean out the tunes. For Sh!ts & giggles throw on the stock airbox

I was out riding yesterday. I edited the post above on what I did for the fuel return line.

I edited my post above. If a moderator could join the two would be nice.
