So it has been brought to my attention that Precision EFI has now released a driveshaft saver. It's disturbing to see this lack of ethical value from another vendor. If they really wanted to be able to take care of their customers on the issue I would have gladly offered them dealer pricing like I do for many dealers and shops but they never reached out to me....instead they just flat out copied my idea.
Guess it was bound to happen sometime, just bummed that it actually has happened. I hit trails the past 2 days for some therapy and now I'm over it! Ha.

Travis, you’ve been too good to all on here with all your fixes so I’m sure we will all support you over the copycats!!! I wouldn’t be surprised if the manufacturer copied it as well but they would have deeper pockets to sue! Probably wish you had a patent on it now!

Free enterprise system. If you don't patent your product others will copy.
Don't be mad, be proud your products work.
I guess its a live and learn if you don't patent your products.
PS, I am not defending precision at all.

It’s an unfortunate fact that innovated products will be copied from some companies. Hurricane products have been copied many times over the years too. Patents are expensive and a short term solution because the Powersports industry evolves at a rapid rate.
Many have asked me why I don’t try to block the copies. My view is that by the time the copiers figure out how, the innovator will already be working on the next products.

It's a blatant lack of RESPECT. I'm happy to see Hurricane actually sells the BOP original and best version of the wedge and has class.
I love Hurricane and BOP products and the effort they put forth to practice fair business and innovate for their clientele. It's good to do business with companies that have ethics and are stand up.

That sucks. All that hard work copied. Wonder how US patent laws work in another country ? Like where a business in Canada copies a patented design of something from America?

Look how Ski-do vs Arctic Cat pro cross chassis worked out!

Not that I agree with what Precision did, but it is not a direct copy. No different than say 4th wheel kits or belly pan protectors.

PEFI is dead to me. This among other things.
Keep your head up Travis! I have had my patent pending floating dock design copied and still have very little litigation muscle until its approved and even then need $40K to sue. Just unfortunate and I feel your pain...

As I don't support or praise a "copycat" but they are selling for 140$ Canadian. Being on the north side of the border we get stuck paying duty, and high shipping when purchasing from the US++ extra waiting time for our purchases.
All said and done we pay over 200$ for the bop bearing locker. That's 60$ more for something that does the same job...
Something to maybe consider Travis is to have someone in Canada manufacture your bearing locker to cut some costs for Canadian... just a thought!!

Travis does offer a substantial discount for Canadian customers on his original products. This shipping rates are more than reasonable as well. He ships via USPS for least amount of risk for duty/tax. I have been luck on both of my recent orders and did not get jammed with customs fees.
Dirty pool on precision's part. I think most know that Travis is a stand up fella and will be loyal to him over copy cats. Just my $0.02
