you will need to do something to stop the darting. to take it to a dealer for the doughnuts only and they dont find anything else wrong yes not to bad but there is almost always something else wrong in there job is easy enuff to do your self with thisd site as your guide. on an 06 and correct me if im wrong here you have the skid that all but requires the beef up from half baked where as the 07 and newer is already beefed up. you will want to hot wire the hand grips or get the yamaheater as well.I loved my gt but it did bottom out alot more after around 6000 miles and was a majior contributer to getting the 12 one more area to spend money that was needed instead of for fun.either sled will be nice the seat is harder on the 06 and allot of guys like that on the gt plush suspension. welcome to the site.

I'll be driving to go check out this sled tomorrow. Again, it's a 06 GT with 3,700 miles. Sound like everything is original. I've only been researching these sleds for the last couple of weeks so i'm far from an expert on them. Having never owned a Yamaha, i'm a bit out of the loop as well.
Other than the obvious, anything that I should put my eye on that is a give away of a problem with these sleds. I'm not going to be pulling seats or anything, but I will give it a good look under the skid plate for damage, and probably pull the side panels off and have a look.
If I decide to pick this up, i'll be looking for some guidance for sure. Thanks alot.

If you need any help with it once you get it home, let me know. we are only about 1/2 hour apart.

Well, looked at two 06 gt's today. Both looked like they were trailered on an open trailer for most of it's life. I wasn't impressed. I'm picky with my sleds, and give them baths and waxes throughout the winter. I'll expect something cleaner than a corroded up engine and hardware.

Well, I found a sled I like. Going to pick it up this Friday. It will be interesting to compare this to my 09 Z1 Turbo Sno-Pro this winter. First yamaha that I will have owned. It's been a pleasure meeting/talking to the current owner, and i'm sure the sled will give the same experience.
