Last time we were pulled over there were 5 of us riding. Two wardens pulled up and kinda blocked the trail in their pickup, notice I said kind of, I know I could have gone around them and typically I would have! The made us shut down our machines and were walking along and pulling everyone's drivers license from us.
I was second in line and would have never stopped if I was leading the group, but my law abiding buddy stopped for them, for whatever reason I'll never know (my brain does not work that way, when the lights come on the throttle goes down and its game on), anyway, the warden get to me and I give him my license, he looks at it and says, "Mike Knapp" he yelled out to his partner and said "were done here, give them all their license back". They let us go with no tickets! His partner was like "what/", so he said to his partner again "we're all done here, give them their license's back". I guess my reputation proceed me. Isn't that what they say? I have a reputation with law enforcement, is it good or bad? I'm not really sure, but in this case they didn't even bother writing us tickets.
We were running well over 100 and racing each other when they saw earlier us at another trail intersection, that is quite common for us it seems every time we go out. Some people will think that's just crazy I know, but that's just how we roll, always racing each other. I asked the Warden if he wanted to set up and see what my sled would really go past the gun at, because 100 wasn't near enough and laughed. Smart #*$&@ I know, I was pushing it but I had to see what he'd say. He laughed and declined, just told us slow down and be careful. TRUE STORY!
