Recently tune my sidewinder with hurricane ss sm tune bundle and had dave align clutches which had to machined the shaft on secondary clutch. I also had them look over my clutches for wear or defect everything good they installed dtay-1 set at 78.5 grams with blk/org secondary wrapped 6-3. So got chance to ride the sled within 100 miles I blew 2 belts before all work I've only blew 1 belt in 600 miles. The only thing I've changed from when it left dave shop was took out the shimwasher had add last year to set deflection. Sled belt was to tight with other washer and would not allow the sled to go in reverse. So I removed it to loosen deflection other than that nothing changed other belt swap which was gates and stock belt. Any suggestions.

We’re the clutches hot when you went in there to put on the new belt? If they were hot(too hot to hold your hand on them) you have a lot of slipping which is bad news. Blowing two in a 100 miles is a sign something is very wrong for sure. One is bad enough, but two?? I’d be very upset. Get on the horn with Dave and Let him know this is happening.

Already have and actually the secondary was warm but not hot and primary was real warm but not hot could keep my hands there all day. The thing is I checked the belt before we went on the ride it looked fine. Went about 20 miles found nice strip I ride in probably 1/4 mile got into for few seconds hit 105 let off turn around went about 65 mph back down the strip turn around eased the throttle until about 30mph whack it about 3 sec later complete grenade in to pieces

Was the belt just snapped in two, or was it in a thousand pieces/exploded?

8JP belt Both times that blew, or one was a gates? I think the 8JP is very inconsistent..some are good, and some aren’t.

Must still be out of alignment somehow? Or something binding? That’s really weird.

Yah that's what I thought I'm bring it up to him this friday was just trying to get some feedback on what could be happening I really wanted to open her up tonight to but that didn't happen.

Set your offset back to what it was before you had it machined and try it.

Maybe the first belt you blew, after Hurricane did the alignment, moved the primary stub shaft in its bearing throwing out the new alignment. If that occurred all subsequent belts are destined to fail as well.

It's possible but I blew the first belt like 20 miles after all the work and I heard something slapping so it actually did blow but was about to and that was gates carbon .
