Has anyone fitted a Magnaflow muffler on there sled? It looks like there P/N 11234 would fit pretty good. Im guessing you could cut the brackets off the stock muffler and weld them on the Magnaflow one. (with minor tweaks for alignment) The dimensions for this muffler are 4" x 9" x 14" with an offset/offset 2" inlet and outlet. The stock muffler measures 5.5" x 8.75" x 14.75". There is a 2" inlet on the stock muffler and the outlet size wouldnt matter since it exits out the back of the sled. Let me know what people think about this. Magnaflows are straight through designs, and I'm guessing a fuel controller might be a must. I also wonder if the sled would be obnoxiously loud too? I wouldn't like that.

I put a cherry bomb on my nytro. its a straight through design also and is really loud but i like the sound! not sure about the fuel controller though! let me know how the magnaflow turns out i was thinking about using one of those!

Magna flow

Would you need to run a fuel controller? I have my nytro muffler off and I cant believe how HEAVY it is. There sure is some weight to be shed there. How much does the magnaflow muffler weigh?

I don't know if a fuel controller would be needed. From what I've read on this site, it sounds like any increase in exhaust flow leans the engine down too much. As far as weight, I don't know that either. I didn't see a weight listed on their website. You aren't kidding about the Nytro muffer. Its like you have a boat anchor bolted under the tunnel!

I am trying to eliminate the ice build up issue with the nytro 3 times this year I thought the bottom was falling out of the sled because of the ice build up. I have some ideas and will post them as I get started on them. I have a rear heat exchanger kit to install and then I am going to close up the tunnel around the muffler but I would like to install a different exhaust system on it also. I can pick up that magnaflow muffler for about $70 shipped to me and may just try it and see what happens. If I need a fuel controller I could do that also. But not sure how you would know that without putting machine on a dyno and installing a a/f ratio meter to keep track of whats happening. If anyone has any info please feel free ot comment on this subject.

Although it's more expensive than the muffler you're looking at ordering, our full exhaust system comes with a full tunnel plate, twin mufflers, a billet mount and new hardware. It replaces the entire system all the way to the motor, and will definitely elimilinate the ice build up issue.

What I would suggest is getting the muffler up out of the tunnel so you can close the tunnel right up. (Just pipe passing thru) I did this and it works great, ice build-up is less that it was on my 2-stroke sleds.

Pic is after a full day in the backcountry. My buddy's stock nytro was loaded right up.

coming with a block off plate is a sweet selling feature!

Nate have you got a link to your system??

Not sure exactly how many kits I have out that are installed yet, but there a few members that have tested them, and I have a few local people who aren't on TY that hve them, as well as a few at a couple dealerships on display.
I had to increase the production quantity which gave me better pricing, and I'll post the full deal in my vendor thread, but through the end of the summer we're selling the full system for $775 plus $25 shipping to the lower 48, $50 to Canada. I am waiting on more of the billet mounts, which shouldn't be too long.

We are also submitting a prototype for the Apex system which we hope to have the initial sample(s) by Haydays.
There are a few other exciting projects coming down the line for both Nytro and Apex that we've been working very hard to complete by haydays, so stay tuned!

I maybe interested in a full system. Do you need to have a fuel controler also?

Any Dyno numbers? Hp gains?

How loud is the system?

Any pics of tunnel block off plate?

Thanks

Eric

We don't have dyno numbers yet, and as I've said in a few other threads, dyno numbers aren't our main priority, but I can assure anyone who is concerned, that our system will definitely be competitive with the highest power gains of any other sytem.
I will measure the db's of the sled I have in the shop now, but that one is un-baffled. We also have a baffle kit as an add-on for thos who want things quieter. Our testing has produced little or no exhaust drone, and a nice mellow tone with out being annoying at WOT.
I do have videos that were taken during the March demo ride, and I do have pics of the block off plate that I will post when I return to the shop. I'm on the road this week, and don't have remote access to the photos.

Any Pics also with the seat and plastic on the machine would also be great.
