When I bought my xtx it already had a mbrp can on. It's loud but now I'm used to it and kind of like it. I was thinking of adding the mbrp header for about $400 and see a gain of another 7hp. Their site claims no tuning is required that it's designed to work with stock sled. Anyone have experience with mbrp header are their no extra tuning claims legit. I know most guys add a fuel controller with after market exhaust but I'm not willing to spend the extra if it's not necessary. Will it see any more gains by adding air box mod or tweaking clutching. I'm open to any suggestions but I'm trying to keep costs down for now and any power upgrades I do now I would like to be able to add to down the line and not replace with something else.

my friend have a 2010 xtx stock with MBRP header+can and he never installed anything else.
Maybe just adjust you clutch cause you will gain RPM a little bit. But no fuel controller is required, only recommended. The controller is needed when you put more air in the intake to balance the more air getting out.

I ran the can and K&N's for a couple of seasons. Noticed some improvement. This year I added the MBRP header and a PCV. I couldn't have imagined what I was about to unleash. This thing pulls like a train. 350 + rpm gain with about another 14 mph top end. Couldn't imagine running the header w/o intake mod or a PCV. Just the header and can probably will give you 5-7 hp but add a K&N kit along with PCV and I'll bet you'll see an honest 18hp gain. Without doing the complete upgrade is like apple pie w/o ice cream, good but could be a whole lot better.

I don't want them down I'm now running perfect at 9050-9100. If your interested I have a PCIII for sale. I also have a few maps. PM me if your interested.

Thanks but for now all i can afford is the header. Ill be looking at doing the air box mod and controller in the summer when I can free up a little more cash. Im hoping to get the header on before the 19th . Going on a six day man trip to lac laronge.

What is the difference between the PCIII and PCV ? I am going to be doing a bunch of mods on my new nytro and will be looking to buy a fuel accelerator

Not really a lot. It's supposed to hold 2 maps plus it makes corrections slightly faster ( I think its every 50 rpm vs. 100) but nothing noticeable. The best thing is that you don't need an external power supply (9 v battery) to map it, so the machine doesn't have to be running. Your best bet is to go to dynojet.com and look at them. I'm selling this for less than half price of a new one. They say it's for a 08 but it works on all nytros. If you're interested PM me.

Is the K&N kit simple to install? I noticed the shmidt bros airbox mod is a lot less money and gets the same gains.
