I found it quite odd last year when Bender said that the industry standard in motorcycle and snowmobile was to meaure your boost pressure BEFORE your carb/TB. When i asked why, they said the reason was for marketing...makes sense, people that do not know any better are going to be attracted to bigger boost numbers. How much bigger? Well i tested last year and found that your boost # before the carbs was about 1psi more then after the carbs(at the boots). Personally i cannot stand a boost gauge just sitting there at 0 instead of reading vaccum, so mine is hooked after the carbs. I think that when we are talking boost #s on here, we should mention the spot on the plumbing that we are getting that pressure # from. Just a idea....sticky?

Personally, Idon't think it matters as long as you consistently measure your own boost from the same point. Everyone has a little bit different setup (i.e. clutching). I believe most people take the information from this web site with a grain of salt and use it more for fuel for thought than for the gospel truth. I know I do and I wouldn't want anyone taking my oponions as gospel either. I look at it as a big think tank for turbo sled owner's.

Good point Tood
Also add dyno charts to that , one can make engines look good or bad .
There is absolutely no consistensy between boost# and horse power with the kits available.
Hp numbers are all talk untill a guy lines up next to you.
I take them with a big grain of salt.
Bender is rightabout martketing, most guys want- Big Boost- Big HP- on regular fuel.
I Guess mom didn't tell them they cant have it all. :ORC

Umm..i think you guys got my point all screwed up...i said what i said because if one guy is saying x is running xx boost on xx octane and is trying to talk about his setup or has questions for someone else, that he might want to mention where he is measuring his boost from...
