Buy your shockwave from Ulmer Racing, and he will sell you the correct progressive ramp unit you need.

How can the shockwave give me any benefits when its adjustable from 42 to 58 degrees? My original helix is 43 degrees. And the MTX has a 39 degrees helix. Maybe im totally wrong, but dont i want the angle to be lower for it to shift out better when climbing?
Thanks

Wow, 39 is pretty shallow. I didn't realize that mountain sleds used helixes with such flat angles.
Yamahas for the trail ususally run straight 47s, with progressive angles of 43 to 51, or so.
I would still call Allen Ulmer and see what is available. My shockwave is great for adjusting for everything between boondocking to frozen surfaces. Not only can I do this within 2 minutes literally, but I will never need to buy another one.

All of the trail vectors and nytros use a straight 43.
That is a lot of twist for theat cat yellow.I would go down to 20degrees put the 14.5 rollers in and you have the adjustable weights already so you can take some tip weight out.The shock wave would be nice for the the elevation and snow changes.Depending on when i go back to work i would like to get one myself.
Powderlites with there tubo kits for mtn riding are using a shockwqave set at 50 or a straight 50 helix epi prurple sec spring
for the primary they use 14.5 rollers and a b-p-b spring and 8bu weights.
What do you have for gearing?I know yours was orignally a short track and if you didn't gear it down that is going to be really bogging you down making climbs.

I geared mine down this season cause the sled blew belts all the time.
I also changed the secondary spring to a stiffer one (AC yellow) to help with this issue. And it seemed to work.
Im running 19/39 gearing now.
I checked out the part catalouges and found out that the only thing different between my setup and my friends MTX is the primary spring, and helix.
He has a 39 degree helix, and a blue-brown-blue primary spring with 50 kg preload (not 35 kg like mine..)
What if change the spring and get the same helix as him? That should work dont you think? Will be much cheaper than a shockwave also..

The primary spring is pretty close.Basically the only thing diffrent is the engagment.A 39 helix would help get your rpms up.It would still be cheaper if you could remove some weight from the tips of your weight.Do the mcx weights have boldts that screw in our are they rivets like the oem weights?
