Just was wondering if there is a corralation between more transfer and the loss of track clips. The reason for this is I ran my sled all of last year with no track clips missing with transfer rod at middle of setting. This year I changed transfer to one mark short of max transfer and have lost a lot of track clips. (nothing else changed from last year) Kevin from Port Yamaha said it was probably due to front rail caps being loose. Just wondering if transfer on max caused track to hit the rail caps more often and caused the clips to come off. I've since put new caps on (bolted and siliconed) and moved transfer to one mark from center towards max. Any thoughts?

I just had to replace all clips (32) I bought a demo sled with 1,100 miles on it (06 apex gt) I cant say what snow conditions it was run in but after I put 200 more miles on it the clips were gone and hyfax were almost worn through. I have since put on the graphite slides and moved the front limiter down one hole and one notch away from max, with the front springs as loose as they would go without jiggling. It handles much better this way IMO and my hyfax have shown little wear with more than 800 miles of hard running. I think some of the problem is not getting enough snow to the hyfax in low snow conditions and the front caps on the rails beating the clips with the limiter strap all the way out.
