Looking at picking up a new modular helmet for the upcoming season.
I am currently looking at a GMAX GM64 Vortex and the FXR Fuel Modular.
Does anyone have any experience with either helmet or recommend another choice? Are electric shields still worth it or a waste of money?
Appreciate any insight that you can offer,
Cheers,
Chris

I've used a BVs2 for years and have never had an issue with fogging or freeze up. -30 an colder with no electric shield. It's been a great bucket.

Doo Modular 2 here for the past 5 years. I doo have an electric shield but only use it when it's snowing, misting, icing, etc. out. This shield has never fogged on me. I really like the large field of vision and the ability to lower a sunshade.

I have had my 2 orginal brp mods for 17 years & just replaced 1 with electric shield the other with non electric. Heavy to current standards but can't complain still wearing & look great in black. Thought about new BVs2 but $550 or so at doo dealer so went with new shields. If I bought new probably would be BVs2 great for keeping fog off glasses....proven tech.

Check into parts availability first. 1st doo dealer told me no parts available for orginal mod buy a new helmet then went to another doo dealer and he was willing to work with me & we had to modify mod 1 shields & tinted visor slightly to fit orginal mod....now better than new! I was not willing to throw away a couple of helmets that cost $700+ that just needed shields + forced me to clean outside & inside of helmets...now look brand new.Leaning towards the mod 3 or the BVS2
