Like many others, the adjustment cable on the suspension of my 09 Vector GT came apart. I was actually able to reassemble it though and reattach it. I noticed though during the process that the piece in the shock that the cable goes into turns very hard. Couldn't turn it by just putting a #1 Robertson bit in there. Had to actually put the bit in a ratchet and turn it that way. Once I put the cable back in and tried the adjuster I can hear the cable spinning around in the shock but not adjusting it. I was afraid that was going to be the case. I don't think a new cable is the answer. Is there a way to lube whatever turns in there to loosen it up? I know I can set it and forget it using the ratchet but kind of wanted to try having the adjustability first.

Might need to have shock rebuilt?
Most have done away with R/A cable.
Just rotate shock 180deg so you can adjust easy, Travis a barn of parts has made a little key for adjusting them easy.
But it should adjust without binding up.

Is that the hand adjuster from Barn of Parts? Does the shock need to be fully removed to rotate it or can I just unbolt the one end and twist?

Yes and yes, I have done this like that. I had to remove he rear transfer bolt then it was quite easy to drop that end lower then the front arm to get a screw drive in the bolt hole of the shock eye to allow me to spin that end 180.
