Looking to get a mountain strap this winter, what do you guys recommend?

IMO save your money for something else. Its all user preference but I wouldn't probably have one if it didn't come on my sled. I have only use it a handful of times and most weren't related to riding but just to tip the sled on its side to inspect the track and underside of the sled. I used it once in a tricky side hill situation and in hind sight I shouldn't have because I almost ended up in a worse situation.
With that said this is the one that is on my sled and its pretty nice but think the money is best spent elsewhere

Mountain strap or not has alot to be with the riding style you are committed to and whats available to you.
Here is my take on it.
If what you got is a super narrow ski stance, perhaps a custom front, and 95% deep snow, then, a low steering bar/no strap may work out just fine for you.
All Burandt, both hands on handlebars, all the time.
If what you got is a lengthened RTX or a XTX and live for the deep snow boondocking, but your situation/location wont grant you this.
Or you might like/love a wider variety of riding styles, then your wider front end will need some more leverage to side-hill. Here is where I find the taller bar riser and mountain strap efficient, ESPECIALLY with a left throttle device.
It comes down to personal choice and preference. The strap ain't a hindrance on the bars, but some people use the strap in the wrong situations, making them do stupid maneuvers where they would been better of just counter steering and leaning in to the turn.
Anyways, I've used a 8" riser, mountain-strap and a left hand throttle on my wide front end Renegade previously, and have had a similar setup now on my stretched RTX.
But my plans for this winter is a custom narrowed front end, and a tad lower riser, about 5-6".
