MPI supercharger blow off valve

Noticed my mpi blow off valve does not open. Pulled it apart and everything looks good. I am running 6lbs of boost could the spring be to stiff? I did adjust spring all the way out but no difference.

I read that you have the sled idling and you can adjust the spring until the valve starts to open. Once it opens you close it just a bit.

I don't know the specs on the MPI unit, but BOV vary greatly between manufacturers. For example my Vortech Maxflow bypass opens at 10-22 InHg vacuum, which is one of the lowest. You may not be developing enough vacuum to open it up at idle.

Just checked and I’m getting 6 for a vacuum. How stiff a spring should I have it that?
