I was looking at the online fiche to try and figure out what changes have been done to the MTX front end geometry over the model years.

  • From the fiche, it looks like the sub frames have changed each year and the same sub frame is used on all FX models. Does anyone know if the sub frame changes affect geometry or just strength?

The spindles are the same for all years of MTX's

The lower ball joints change each year. Again just for durability or do these change geometry?

The lower A arms are also different each year. These make the most sense for geometry changes. Does anyone know what the changes were with every model year?

Just kind of curious about why some were made and interchangability of parts between years before I start making changes.

As far as I know the subframes geometry did not change. The 08 part number subs up to the 09 number which subs up to the 2010 part number.

2010 MTX and XTX arm numbers are the same except for a "P1" and "P0" at the end of the part number. I believe to only difference would be the 2010 MTX ski stance is 40", compared to the XTX 41" ski stance. With both sleds having the new and improved geometry.
XTX got the improved geometry in 09, while MTX got it in 2010.
Makes sense that the ball joints numbers would change as they are updated. It is common in the automotive field the change part numbers when the part is updated. Often the new part number will fit the older applications.
Not sure if this info helps ya, but I thought that I would put it out there.
