Is it possible to convert the steering on an xtx to the mtx style? I wish they made the btx in a 141 as its the perfect ballance for my area but thats not the case. So im wondeeing if i can make one myself from an xtx?

Shouldn't be a problem, I was looking at my buddies on his Cat. It's just a bracket, linkage, and support with some fasteners.his is factory and the regular support is still there left in place but empty.

Thanks, any other major differences aside from the narrower front end on the mtx?

All Sidewinders use the same post (XTX style). If you're wanting the MTX style off the Viper the parts list needed is as follows:
8KG-F3813-00-00 (COLUMN,STEERING 2)
8KR-RA816-00-00(BUSH, 7)
8KR-F1957-00-00(BRACKET, STEERING)
8KR-F1947-00-00(BRACKET, STEERING)
8JP-RA379-00-00(NUT, LOCK 1) qty 2
8JP-RA1B4-10-00(FLANGE BOLT)
For 2017, there weren't major differences between the XTX and MTX other than the narrow front end. For 2018, the MTX has a dropped and rolled chaincase where the BTX and XTX do not.

In 17 the sw xtx le was a 2.25 141, basically a 141 btx.Is it possible to convert the steering on an xtx to the mtx style? I wish they made the btx in a 141 as its the perfect ballance for my area but thats not the case. So im wondeeing if i can make one myself from an xtx?

Thanks, i thought they used different posts like the vipers did, good to know. The chaincase i assume is just to clear the taller lug?All Sidewinders use the same post (XTX style). If you're wanting the MTX style off the Viper the parts list needed is as follows:

The dropped and rolled is to accommodate taller lugs with an 8t driver, shallower approach angle to get up on top of snow better, and also helps changing the center of gravity a smidge while riding.
