Just got the call from my buddy Kip at Pats auto and Sports in Greenland MI that my new machine is in. Can't wait to give it a go. Hope its as great as the reports I'm hearing about! Can't wait to try out the power-steering. I'm as giddy as a kid in a candy store!

Anyone riding in the Greenland area of the UP yet?

KnappAttak,

I can't wait to hear what you think of this sled!

I have so appreciated your reviews of different sleds over the years and the Apex XTX has my attention. I am also awaiting my maiden voyage on the ICERIPPER XT replacement track you spoke highly of and I installed on the 06 APEX last month.

I notice you went to MI to get the sled. I live near Rochester as well and wondered what the reasons for picking a distant dealor.

Western UP, towards Marquette area and over more to the west I heard has 2+ feet and they are starting to groom.

A guy on the johndee boards (by the name of Lenny) has been real good at giving almost daily reports of that area. He lives in Greenland. My neighbor is from Houghton and he was home for Thanksgiving. He said they had around 4 inches on the ground and the Friday after T-day they got close to a foot. I noticed yesterdays snowcover map shows around 10-16" base in the Copper Harbor area.......less to the south.

Good to hear on the XTX. Maybe it was mine...LOL. I had a voucher claim on the red XTX but did not buy it from Kip. Wife spent all my $$ this year on the house. New floors, new carpet and new furniture. At least I got my new furnace and water heater.

I cant wait to hear how you like your new sled! I also cant wait to get to the UP, I dont think I have ever ridden before christmas before, maybe once or twice. Im looking forward to early season riding!

Christmas to Grand Marais is fabulas, 1 to 2 ft on the ground monday and has been snowing every day since. Just got back last night, great first ride of the season. :jump: :-o

Was breaking trail on my Attak last Sunday from the Watersmeet to Twin Lakes area. Stay away from Gogebic, big water holes. I'd say they had a good foot when I left.

we were up there last weekend and had mixed feelings on the trails. Most were not groomed and bumpy as hell especially from Rockland to Bergland. Huge mud and water holes alot of the trail we had trees that were down that we had to find a way around. Other than that from twin lakes to Houghton was good, we tried to get to Gay but more rough trails that were not groomed. I am sure they are much better now after saturdays snow. We decided to leave saturday afternoon because of the subpar trails and the storm that was coming Good luck with the new sled I can not wait to get mine!

Munising had so much snow, the little grooming that was done, wasn't too good. I did a lot of riding in plowed roads.
