Thanks to Dave at Powderlites for the tank peices and parts, I built a new intercooler for my race sled using a Bell intercoolers Core.

Looking for more efficiency at my boost and power level.

Got my new intercooler from dave last week too!

I got it custom made for my sidemount setup.

L really like the' velocity stacks'... never seen anyother intercooler that have that before.

Sapling, whats wrapped around your turbo?

A strap, cause sometimes they like to blow off the throttle bodies, never seen mcx intercoolers come off the apex, the other kits i have seen and put back on, not much fun in the mountains, and yes tried removing spacers, glue, etc, its the not so great mounting system.

I can second that, I now have my throttle bodies bolted to the motor. Along with the strap around the intercooler.

Haha i think hes talking about hte msr glove sitting on the turbo . probably just warming it up

ahh thanks!!LOL!!!!

Ted, looking at all these turbo sleds....making these kits is an art!

Having the intercooler so close to the intake.....2" charge pipe opening up into these caverness intercoolers...would that not slow down the charge? Does the intercooler have time to cool the charge effectively? Or ideally would it be (if possible in such an application) to run the intercooler back into a 2" tube, thus speeding up the charge again, after it's slowed in the intercooler to cool?

Physics says; with pressure drop we have cooling.

Can't be very efficient?

I mean if you had the room, you could put a 36" long cooler on the nose of that sled? The air would be cooler right?

I guess because of the application, there really is no better way to do it?

Yep just warming up my MSR gloves!!! I never get cold!!! Just lean over and you get blasted with all of the heat pouring off the turbo!! Man these things make heat.

I like my strap idea. I am still thinking I need a different material for the strap. It stretches more than I would like to see. I just used the two bolts on the inside of the Delta box to secure the strap. I am more worried about the throttle bodys blowing off than the intercooler. It would be a serious pain to put those back on 50 miles from the truck!!
