My Wyoming trip.

Couple pics from my trip out to Wyoming. Was a blast, was just hoping for more new powder. The snow was deep though, probably at least 6 feet, but pretty packed down by the time we got there. Still loved climbing anything we came across though. Mountain air was interesting. We were up over 12k a couple times. Medicine bowl area.

The one pic my buddy got stuck at the top of one of the climbs we were doing, so I got it into my head to go up there and try to plant the Summit in some looser snow... Not a good idea it rolled but I managed to catch it, then it was stuck... Another pic in the middle at the top of the hill you can see two little stick figures. Thats me and another guy in our party.

I see you were in the snowies. I know where everyone of those pictures where taking The key to riding out there is either hire a guide (100.00 a day) or ride with guys that know the area. The common areas get tracked up very quick but if you know where to ride there is tons of fresh deep snow to be found.
When I ride out there I take the trail for about 2 miles then dont get back on a trail untill the end of the day and we always find good snow.

Will you be going back anytime soon? Eric

I did not see a cornice in pic 20... last year we were hitting the cornice wide open and gettin some great air.

Grape, that is Shithouse hill. Its not normal for a cornice to be at the top of it. Last year it did develope a small one late in the year that was fun to luanch off of. My wife tried to get me on video three time in a row and missed it every time After the third time I figured I had used up all my luck for the hill. Eric

We've been wanting to go out for quite some time. One of those things you always talk about but never do. Then one of our guys remembered that a friend of his from NY is working out there. We called him and he was stoked to take us around. He knows the area ok but I was hoping to see Widow peak or whatever they call it. Was hoping to get some fresh powder as well. The shithouse hill you could get some decent air on the 800 Summit if you really hit the ledge right, I think I know where you're talking about.

We stayed at the Snowy Mountain Lodge... I don't know if I'd go back or not. The "Trapper" cabin was pretty rough despite what the owner made it out to be on the phone. I like the Medicine Bowl Lodge and would probably want to stay there next time. Maybe next year I'll go out again. I was really looking forward to some untouched fresh powder.
