N/A mod mountain viper?

Like I said I have a nytro and they put the turbos under seat so there was some lag there. My bad I didn't realize the turbo was so close to the intake on the vipers.

I had two Nytros, one cut down to 563 pounds wet and one cut down to 600 wet with 280hp supercharger. Both with trick front ends 3 inch forwards. After spending a fortune I found the solution................sell them bot and get Vipers!

Yeah a new Viper MTX was on the list for this coming spring. I was looking at the new MTX 141 with the 3" track. I felt that it would be a good sled to ride through the trees. Well that plan was shot down pretty fast when the GF and I decided to buy a house. She didn't like the idea of a house payment and a sled payment. So I guess I'll just have to stick with the nytro for another year our two.

I hear that. I would suggest though that you get the 3 inch forward arms, makes it a lot nicer to ride in the trees.

Yeah that was on the list of things to do this fall but money got a little tight so I'll just have to make due with what I got. Next year I will be doing some front end work for sure. This fall was the exhaust and programmer along with a new track.

is the viper exhaust system really any shorter than a nytro? viper exhaust goes backwards, makes a loop over the chaincase then meets the turbo above the mag. the pressure side of a nytro is for sure longer, but there is also 2 intercoolers.

Thats what I was thinking too but I guess people are saying there is almost zero lag so MPI must have it figured out.

If memory serves, area on the intake side is more detrimental than area on the exhaust.... Either way, it is a very short run to the intake...

I can absolutely attest to the fact that my MPI Trail has zero lag. I had a bit in Mesa at 11000' but my ebcm was disconnected as per Yamaha/MPI recall and I was running regular fuel. Put 91 into it and it was gone. At home there is none at all even with regular 87.

I like the power that the turbo offers. Just a little worried about the throttle response in the tight stuff. That's why I was thinking about n/a. Need to find a turbo to try in the mountains. Ran into the Yamaha power tour 2014 in west Yellowstone, but they wouldn't let our group touch the sled, even if we showed them the deep stuff. Had about 10 turbo vipers.

I would not worry about throttle response with a turbo, If anything you will notice better response . Like you that was a big worry of mine but I have lots of ride time on my sled before the MPI turbo and I can honestly tell you throttle response is better now. There is no lag in your perma grin :D
