I have a 17 XTX 141 with the 1.6 Cobra. Recently added Hurricane 240 270 300. I need some serious traction. thinking about a 1.25 studded track. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated..

Stock muffler? Performance muffler? Header?
Get your transfer right first. Tons of threads on this. Then studs....... Even more threads on this. Quick search and you'll be reading thousands of posts. You looking for trail set up or racing? Everybody will have a different opinion on this so you need to be specific with your set up, style and your weight.

3 inch Sandale..stock header...seems to transfer really good. Mostly groomed trails and like to race when the boys are up to it. I just seem to be spinning way to much on the higher HP.

If you're trail riding and occasional lake running start with studding up the middle. You can always add to the outside. Woody's Mega Bite 1.575" will clear no problem without hitting on the tunnel

Stud Boy Super Lite Pro series double backers .750 2522 are the ones you want

Have seen the problem with the 1.6” Ice Cobra on hard packed groomed trails. Lugs are so soft that they curl under, causing track to spin like crazy out of the hole, but work really good for intended purpose, like in loose snow!

Going to find it hard to beat the Rip II studded.

Just my experience and others may not agree.

Yes. Rip II 1.25. Woody's 1.575" mega bites And Stud Boy 2522 Super Lite plastic backers work very good. Stick with doubles inside. I'll be adding singles on the outside as I believe there is enough deflection to eliminate pull outs there.

Total # of studs inside?
You will want 2 doubles per bar. You can buy a template or just space them so that the studs are 3/16" of an inch out of line with each row. There's a bunch of different patterns and this is over simplifying it. It just takes some thought and planning so the pattern doesn't repeat to often
