I found this thread where a Bosch plug failed that way and he is switching to NGK.

Is your failed plug like in that pic?

LOL NGK are one of the best out there, Bosch and Champion are garbage , have seen them broken off many a time top and bottom, never an NGK yet, I run them in everything i have and wont run anything else. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I had a similar thing happen on my RX1 (ngk plugs) a couple years back. Center part of plug with hexagon for wrench pulled straight out leaving just the threads(panic started) used a straight screwdriver and carefully turned the threads out and all was good, bought another $10 plug and never had any issues. Not unheard of I guess but certainly not common...

I feel SICKBOYZ pain & understand your anger at NGK , but i personally know of Champion failures along with Bosch, Autolite & no namers' failures. In well over 50 2-stroke engines i've owned; i never had an NGK failure. When i do; i'll chalk it up to bad luck. I feel your pain...
