New '22 gets POWER STEERING!

12 pages on power steering?? Lol. Really???? We have gotten that beat down? Absolutely no need for this when sled is set up properly. Take the time and test and tweak your settings. Fix the f%#king drive shaft/bearing fit and the POS roll over valve including the heated one. And last but not least add some more material on the primary clutch where the set screw goes into.

i agree,my sidewinder steers easy with the pilots..my only concern now is the damage done to my Laptop as it was hacked and someone posted #*$&@ on my facebook and on here..

I'm sure Yamaha will have all the issues and concerns fixed for 2022 Winder line up, with power steering to boot.
Ya right, why fix it now. Cats 11th year of the Pro-Cross and all they've done is eliminate the sight glass and somewhat improve the tunnel hose's! Same piss poor designed drive train that looks like it was engineered by a 10 year old!!! Sorry for the RANT!!!

People really need power steering,CMON man opps BOY
Have you driven a car or truck without power steering? Or a quad with EPS compared to one without? Lol

This will reel in some buyers, but I personally don't think they need it. My RTX already steers much easier than my buddies Doo.
Have you owned or tried sleds with EPS?

Agree EPS is not needed on this chassie.....But you guys are missing the point i think....

Steering is always a compromise of keel design, carbide length, and effort of steering. When you introduce Power steering to any sled, you now dont need to compromise your ski/carbide combo to get a good balance between effort and turning on soft outer berm. Now you can rail the outer berm of trail and not worry about push, since you can now run an ultra precise carving ski/carbide combo. Normally you cant run super aggressive ski/carbide setups due to your arms would fall off after a day of riding.

I realize many of you ride more wide open trails, but for my area this is a huge advantage for a heavy sled to have.

EPS allows the best of both worlds...this was always talked about when the Apex EPS came out.

IMO this is a serious new advantage I did not see or think would come, not that I ever cared or wanted it but now Im excited, not too mention this IMO is likely all REAL YAMAHA tech. That alone makes me happy to see YAM actually still has some desire to progress these sleds with YAM tech, not something Cat ever had.

Could not have said it any better myself about Yamaha’s EPS. Those saying it’s a “no need” must not have experienced it. My ‘16 Venture TF has it and any other sled I try feels so sloppy to me that it seems it’s falling apart. It literally is the same difference in a car/truck without power steering or a quad compared to having power steering. No darting if/when falling into other snowmobiles ski tracks is my favourite part I think.

i will say my apex has more snap to it than my winder..the 4 cylinder has awesome torque

seeing comments like this always makes me regret selling my 03 Rx1 Mtn last year which I owned from new when they first came out lol. Miss that 4 cylinder!
At least I still have my Vmax-4’s to remain in the 4 cylinder snowmobile club.

Isn't an advantage of EPS, for all rider types, is one can potentially put the biggest skis with a deep keel and the biggest carbide and turn like on rails?

I'm thinking like C&A Pro XT or XCS and Snow Tracker aggressive. Could even not use the snow tracker metal plate.

Ya but my sled doesn’t weigh more than 2000 lbs and I’m on slippery snow. If my daughter at 120 lbs has no problem you old guys must be out of shape. I’m old no problem steering just saying,

If you think that the 2012 Pro0cross is the same as the 2021 then you have never driven both. Heck the 2020 drives different than the 2019. Yes, there are things that need changing but they are different, and better, than years before.
