I was reading in the AC forums at HCS about insurance. Some were quoted ridiculous prices. Basically kids with no other stuff. Those wth homeowners and big policies were getting better rates. But seen quotes above a grand for the year.
Others were inline with our Apex.

So what is the adverage cost for insurance on a apex? I don't have any on none of my sleds and i don't know of anyone in my town or any near towns that do. Would make sense tho some of those sleds cost as much or if boosted more than a car and we all have insurance on that.

i pay $280 per year for full coverage on my apex, i couldnt see riding without insurance here with all the traffic we deal with. my sled has been paid for from day 1 but i wouldnt even concider riding without insurance, imo $280 a year to get my sled replaced is way worth itCory Burt said:So what is the adverage cost for insurance on a apex? $280 is not bad. We don't have to worry about traffic around here in the winter. We are pretty isolated in the winter months due to the amount of snow december till mid May there are more snowmobiles on the road than cars or trucks. Around here snowmobiles are used in the winter the same as cars in the summer most people us their sled several times everyday.

I pay 340 per year. live in mass and ride in maine. sled is stored in maine also.
insurance agents were quoting me between 600-1100+ for insurance back in 2006 when i bought it.
I had to look around for quotes then swap everything i own to liberty mutual. house, cars, trailer, and sled. They all explained it the same way when i asked why so much. they said on sleds they price it by the engine size. 1000 cc = lots of money. i was wondering what the guys with the nitros and anything 1000cc+ pay.

In Ontario, Canada we pay anywhere from $550.00 to $1000.00 (1000cc +) for full coverage depending on your driving record and age I've seen some younger riders well over $1000.00 plus $15.00 liscence a year...I'm paying $595.00/yr with a CLEAN record no speeding or accident tickets!

Full coverage on my 40th anniversary Apex LTX GT was $82.00 per year through USAA. This is a military based ins. company. For years only officers and their immediate family were eligible. I have heard enlisted are now elegible.

To turn this back on topic. I was watching a rerun of snowtrax when they tested the 09 Z1 turbo. They only got it up to 110mph on radar...

as i started this post,i'll update, the sled has 700 miles on it now and its not going any faster,he put studs when he got it and after 400 miles he blew the track, not sure what kind of track they come with, right now, this guy is not very pleased with the performance of this sled, the apex with well tuned clutches is 6 mph faster,an 09 ltx, dont know if the timing is actually retarded, after 700 miles you would think its well broken in,i will report if it gets any faster
