He is talking about a new model "Well lets just say it’s new, it’s special and it’s a Yamaha of course."
Sounds like an Apex XTX to me.... Something tells me we won't be seeing a totally new design...Maybe an Apex with a new Motor and minimal changes.

I am hoping for a more rider forward trail friendly 135 -150 hp lighter sled or I'm jumping ship!

new sled
A rep told us that the new sled is going to be....... a stretched Apex144. That is what he said. All of the other sleds are going to remain pretty much the same other than graphics......

That's my guess as well, in Chris Speak a new "Model" means a variation of an existing design.
Hopefully they at least do something innovative like put power steering on the Apex which would cost peanuts but probably lead to a lot of new sales.

My dealer told me that his rep told him that Yamaha was working closely with Doc Brown, and the new sled will have the latest flux capacitor and factory installed hover conversion.

Re: new sled
Well that is just stupid if it is... I hope there is more to it then that. Is there really that much difference from a 136 to a tipped up 144? Very little, if any, so I hope it's a new model and very refined Apex with more power. Even 15 more hp and a better handling sled will be nice..

2009 Phazer MTX
maybe a Phazer XTX also, since ALOT of people are stretching there phazers and the local dealers have said they have alot of requests for such a Phazer. ALL the parts are in the parts bin. Take a MTX, put a 1.25" lug track, 42.5" ski stance off the short model, and the RTX shock package. DONE. Oh wait, that's what I'm building.

They might call it the Apex, but it will be a relaxed Nytro type chassis. 4 cylinder, 4 valve head, probably produce more power than advertised, just like the Nytro.

Talking about Chris Reid. For sure the new mid year sled is not a bigger HP monster. Otherwise he wouldn't have the YamaCharger installed on his own Apex.

Yammie does not do mid year sleds to speak of.
Doubt they will this year either.
