I had turned around already when I took that photo. This deer literally jumped out of the wood where I don't believe its front hooves even touched the ground and its rear end smacked my hood as I went pass. I remember looking over my shoulder and seeing this deer sideways in mid-air flight upside down. By the time I got turned around, it was already dead.

I do that as well. Piece of cake. I also use it when in fresh snow and the trails disappear. It keeps me on some hard pack underneath. As you know if you go off the trails/road trails/field trails snow is much deeper and softer and my "heavy beast" will sink especially with all 250lbs of me plus gear.I will admit I do use it to see well beyond my vision. Can kind of tell when a very long straight section is ahead so you know you can keep’er pinned Sorry Teamblue! Also shows well before a corner so I don’t give er. Definitely safety advantage that way at least.
I have alot of tracks stored in the unit to follow if needed like mentioned above or at night etc. Not to mention how to get from point a to b . So many trail junctions and they all look the same and the signage can be horrible with these smaller clubs if they get signed at all.

That must have sucked. But nice red curve skis!!Don't even get me started with deer jumping out onto the trail. Hit this little fella with my brand new Apex at the time and didn't even have close to 500 miles on the sled. If you look closely, you can even see the hair it left on my hood. I was more upset with damaging my new ride to even think about taking some venison home to make up for the damage it caused.

Did the case come with a heater, Or did you add that separate?Garmin Drive smart 65 7" screen with GPSTrailmaster maps in waterproof case with hardwire power, 5w heater element to keep the screen bright, mounted on BOP bracket.

Phone paired with Bluetooth so it shows alerts, texts, and incoming calls. Pretty slick. Total cost about $300.

No, heater was a separate purchase. About $5 on eBay I believe. You would want about a 5w 12v heater element. Something like this:Did the case come with a heater, Or did you add that separate?

I actually have the GPS power and heat element on a switch...Did you wire it in direct so its on all the time? (only when the sled is on of course)
The switches are wired to the battery so I can turn on the GPS even when the sled is off (for navigating on the side of the trail.). Other switch is aux lights.

Did you figure out a way to get the GPS to Calculate Routes using Off-Road trails? Garmin Custom Service stated this Feature is not available on the Drivesmart Models. (Of course its available on their $800 models, lol)Garmin Drive smart 65 7" screen with GPSTrailmaster maps in waterproof case with hardwire power, 5w heater element to keep the screen bright, mounted on BOP bracket.
