I need to put new one's on. Can anyone share as to how to do it? Dealer said to back off the suspension and pull the springs and it should drop right out. 4 bolts to pull.
Pulling the springs- looked at it and it doesn't look like they just come unhooked-is there a secret to it?
Thxs.

I have put two sets on my Apex MTN and did the following:
- spray WD-40 along both rails/slides
- loosen the track
- cut 1 row of track windows wide enough to get the slides out (stock slides are wider than the windows)
- remove screws from front of rails
- gently tap slide backwards using hammer & chisel or decent sized screwdriver from the front
- pull out from rear (for this we use our own home-built slide remover, consists of a vise-grip on to a long ez-thread and then a large weight for a 'slide-hammer') but you can tap them out and get them through the windows and run the track backwards (reverse) to pull them out too
- use dish soap to lube up the new ones so that they slide on easier

Are there fibers in that area that by cutting might degrade the track strength?

I don't have any pictures - the sled is in the trailer.
I basically cut about 1/8" from each side or so. It shouldn't be any different than porting the track, or punching out track windows to run extroverts. I didn't think twice about it, I've got more lug damage than anything else, no issues with the 'wide windows'

When i did mine i didn't cut any windows in my track. I just twisted the hyfax a little sideways and pulled it through. WD-40 is a must with the length of these hyfaxes. Cheap slide hammer and some vise grips are woth there wieght if gold in they decide to be stubborn. Some will come off with no problem. Others require at least a 6-pack.

WERD, I wish I would have found this before I changed mine, Did everything the smae though except I used WD40 to help lube them back on too.
I also found that once you get about 4"s of the slide through the track that if you drill a hole you can use a tow strap to yank on it and it slides right off.
For lifting the sled up I just use a motor lift! Ha Ha Ha Works awesome and you can adjust the rear of the sled in any positon that you need it!

If any of you guys have reverse, you can peel the old sliders off using reverse. Just stick 3 or 4" through the windows and pop it inot reverse, just enough throttle to engage the clutch and voila, two sliders on the floor. Try it, you'll like it.

I've heard of doing that but to be honest that kind of scares me......

you can still peel it off with the track without reverse.
Just get a buudy to help. It requires alot of force and is very difficult for 1 person to rotate the track in reverse to peel off the hyfax
