New sled!

Bergstrom are good runners you may like them allot but snow trackers are on the next level best single upgrade yet besides going to the xtx

(IMO) I perfer the triple points over the trackers.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely hit the driveshaft bearing. The jackshaft bearing i may leave for this season as i don't want to wear out the seal taking it off to often. They just pry off right?

Use a dental type pic and they pop right off with no damage to the seal. I wouldn't worry about wearing it out. I do my two sleds every year as part of putting it away and have had no issues with the seal.

While you have it all apart you may want to remove all the ground clips and solder the wires

Pioneer has a wheel drop down kit that uses stock wheels that prolongs hifax wear that works, beefup ARM, Rocks Yamahaheaters,

find some 06 bars with the removable hook ends, hand warmers will work great.

Shortly after I bought my 2006 Attak I got the updated bars. I would never go back to the 06 bars. They are bigger around, were not as warm as the updated bars, and the hooked ends are worthless. The hooks are not heated, just cold steel to grab on to and freeze your hands. If you want 06 bars I still have them, PM me make me an offer I can't refuse...

yes 06 bars stock on an 06 sled suck wired as 07 bars and they can burn your hands. If i had a use for them I would snap them up fast.

Pioneer performance closed out all their products when Bruce closed up shop. I have the lowering kit on my sled. You could get ahold of Bruce and see if he has any laying around still. Here is his contact info.

I took the Attak for spin for the first time on Tuesday night, only put on 30 miles. I'm completely happy with the purchase. The sled rides like new (it should with only 840 miles), and runs like it too. The power is sooo smooth and endless feeling. The suspension is like butter, for good and bad. The rear shock adjustment actually works pretty well which I didn't expect. Even the seating position is as good or better than my old sled, I didn't realize how low the 440 brick sofa was.

There are some huge opposites with my old sled. The acceleration isn't as good, it doesn't have the neck snapping torquey feel. On the other hand the mid-top end speed is awesome, feels effortless to pull right up over 85 (my rev topped out at 95 speedo, I feel like this sled could get to 110+ speedo). Fuel mileage is measurable in miles per gallon instead of gallons per mile, used one notch on the electronic guage! Off trail, well it's heavy, there's no getting around how much weight there is. It doesn't respond as well to weight changes and requires a lot of effort to change direction. I've only experienced this in 4' drifts.

I ended up selling my 440/800 for 4200 so the net cost was only 300 bucks! I was able to sell my sled early in November just after a storm, otherwise I doubt I would have been able to get the money I did. Overall this is a much more composed trail riding snowmobile. It belongs in the environment I will do most of my riding and I couldn't be happier with the decision. It's got all the creature comforts that make the whole experience much more enjoyable, hell, being able to check the time by turning the key instead of pulling off my gloves and checking my phone is great.

Good deal! Glad your happy with your decision. Makes you feel better knowing it was a good choice!

Ok just got back from a trip. After putting some meaningful miles on I want to update some impression.

Hands down best sled I've ridden on smooth trails. Top speed is effortless, although not as fast as I thought. Best I could do was 108 speedo. Granted the trails were sugary and not prone for top speed, it was also the top speed for our group inclunding 08 700 dragon, 06 700 fusion, 06 mxzx 700 and a 16 switchback 600.

Hot trunk! I would estimate it would heat to ~130°F and stay there all day. This is awesome! Great way to defog goggles or warm a moist balaclava. Ranks up there with my favorite trail features.

When the trails got rough the sled still handled them well when hitting them at speed. As soon as I slowed down I found the skid to be gutless, easy to bottom and rode like a pogo stick. I felt like low speed compression/damping on the shock are lacking. This was ten times as obvious day two with all the added weight from snow/ice the day before.

Jumping is terrible btw, I wouldn't even try it again.

Off trail is not great...coming from a doo mxzx 440/800, I found myself hating off trail wrestling this beast. I would say 70% of this is the weight an 30% is the 1-1/4 ripsaw.

Sled mods:
1. most here said the sled needed better handwarmers, mine are sufficient down to 0°F
2. Rear heat exchanger, again most said it was needed but I only felt the radiator fan kick on a couple times when idling trail side (doesn't justify the cost to me) had it been icy I may have a different impression
3. Skis, not needed as they worked fine, steering effort was average and sled turned fine. I do have triple points so that could be making them OK. Would probably be one of my first modifications if I choose to do any
4. Rear skid, read above. Its great sometimes and really quite poor in certain conditions. Parts of this can be attributed to my lack of knowledge on adjusting the settings. A revalve and new spring would be my first mod.
