I feel as though the girl i've had my eye on is now dating the captain of the football team.
I feel a little betrayed, but to be honest, i think it was a GREAT move.
Especially since the new SNOGOER claims the Arctic Cat clutching was much better then the SRX's.
Keep us posted on belt life please..............and DON'T bragg.........i'm a little sensitive right now

Hahaha Steve am I kicked out of here for not having a Yamaha (badged) sled? Are posts with green pictures showing mods and upgrades welcome?

Awesome looking sled DooZ. The 19’s are really green. Mine’s mainly gray but I dig the overall look.

I think many of us will be happy to learn how your belt life ends up once wick'd up to 270++.....hopefully it will fare better then many of us with YAM clutches. But we will still try to increase our belt life yet another season.

White, Black, Blue or Green it doesn't matter to me...........hold on.........i think that was a Martin Luther King speech.
Anyways, you are always welcome & if your clutches work incredible, many might be putting them on their sleds next year.
So keep us posted.
P.S. TY is about having fun & enjoying snowmobiling, so please bring a sense of humor to the keyboard. Of course NOT blowing belts would be more fun!

Going to have a Cat/Team primary clutch to slap on this season as well. Planning to use the Cat belt with the Yamaha Driven, it will be cool to not worry about belt deflection and a tight belt with its bearing on the primary shaft.
Something has to be done to keep belts intact!

Ok I gotcha....I know the secondary cat setup needs the cat Jshaft too, so you are gonna run just cat TEAM primary and our stock winder secondary correct?Going to have a Cat/Team primary clutch to slap on this season as well. So what belt will work with that then you think?
This will be a nice test, back to back....I have priced out a full swap and its not cheap going to full cat setup, but if the primary alone helps, that is not nearly as bad. If we can run the 112 cat belt, that would be the ticket but will that fit?
Keep me posted Mike.

See you on the Hill!!I just snagged an nos 18 Sidewinder LTX SE, white/blue, and I am super stoked. I’m in western NY and will be mainly riding Tug, Old Forge, maybe some So Tier and dying to ride Canada. I’m coming off a ten year hiatus, had a Mach with oiler issues that discouraged me and I waited until I could buy a new sled. I like to ride hard.
I’ve done a bunch of research on here and am planning the Pilot 6.9s, the ROV delete, the tunnel reinforcement, maybe the stealth wheel. Huge thanks to Rockerdan, Knapp, Barnofparts, J&T, more than I can remember right now. You guys friggen rock!
So if you had a new SW what would you mod immediately and what would you hold off on?
Check for missing/loose turbo mount bolts.

I agree. Rode with a dx and it works fine. My se has no issues after adjusting the shocks/springs to my liking. It is excellent at stupid speeds over trail garbage. G outs included. Not being a cat fan, I really wanted to see what their chassis can do.4th wheel kits are an insurance policy. On a new sled i would not be concerned with replacing right away.
Tuners work well in trails that are set up. Its loose snow where they tend to go south.
Dont get all bent out of shape over shocks either. My father and i both felt my dx shocks had a nicer overall ride than his qs3.
As others suggested, Get some seat time first. The motor will for sure keep you contrnt for awhile!
I do like adjustable shocks though.
I've bought the best shocks in the past on ski doos, only to wonder why...lol.

I hear you, and I never would’ve noticed the difference. I’m used to 800 triples in CK3 chassis, using throttle and speed to handle the moguls, and man handling the thing through the turns. Lower back be damned lol! Any of these new Winders would be unimaginable luxury and I wouldn’t know the difference between the base shocks and QS3r’s. In the end it came down to the Cat was thousands cheaper, not a 9 hour trailer ride to pick up, and many say the team clutches don’t rattle and blow belts... I badly wanted the blue and the name but the Cat RR model really grew on me and it is essentially the same sled as the LE.

Honestly MrMogul we have a great opportunity here to combine forces. We have identical sleds with completely different clutches, belts, set-ups & theories.
I believe Arctic Cat uses the same Stub Shaft so that noise will still be there, but maybe the rest of it will be quieter.
We still haven't found a smoking gun on the problems some of us are having. Your info might help us dial it in.
I have a friend/dealer that runs heavily boosted Thundercats & swears he has NO belt or clutch issues, but i don't fully trust his VERY biased opinions.
He is pro Cat & anti Yamaha. He can have his techs install new clutches twice a year as far as i know.
I actually went on Arctichat a few times & was not impressed. Just too biased.
So again i will be expecting 500 mile reports. Maybe some temperature numbers. Heck, i'll send you my extra temp gun.

I understand a little brand loyalty but the bias is ridiculous (although I still can’t believe I bought an Arctic Cat, what’s next a Polaris? Lol). I’ll keep you and everybody updated, and if you want to loan a heat gun I’ll be happy to take readings. I have zero bias about the Catwinder, just looking forward to that 998 motor!
