I just moved to CO from SC and bought my first sled, an '05 RX-1 mountain. Funny, I seem to remember those 1960s ski doo hardtails were easy to ride when I was ten, but with all the bells and whistles, I can hardly keep this thing upright. Go figure.
I do 90% of my riding in the backcountry on untracked, super drifted, side hill stuff that you just don't want to loose it on. Really challenging learning curve. To make matters worse, I often have skis strapped to the side.
I am fairly mechanically savvy, but would not begin to claim to understand the workings of this beast of a machine. Would all you knowledgeable folks out there be willing to pool your intellectual resources, dumb them down a bit, and help a newbie out?
I am looking for any suggestions on adjustments, cheap or free mods, and riding tips. First and foremost, should I take my sway bar off?
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to the collective power of your wrath.

I'm in Ned, just west of boulder. The wind blows and yet. . . it never snows. Don't worry though, I can see it snowing at the divide, all day long.

I wouldn't temove your sway bar until you get some more seat time on the sled it will make the sled roll more and tippier.
Check out the link above.
My best advice is go back to the first couple pages on the rx mountin forum and strt reading and use the search feature you will learn alot.
