was picking up some parts for the apex this morning and ended up picking up 2011 venture gt demo sled for a great price, hoping the wife enjoys being a passenger, after a little mishap on the vector she doesn't really want to ride anymore.
anything to look for on this sled or does it get the same problems as the apex i am used to?

The Venture Gt is a great sled. I found it much more fun to drive after changing the suspension set ups.
Search function will find many threads on this. Here is what I did. Ski springs to loose so don't rattle when unloaded and soften the front spring of the rear suspension. Seems to lower ride hieght and greatly decrease the sense of 'tippy' .
I now love it to ride long trail miles at high pace.

So I understand this, on my 08 Venture GT I should "stiffen" the front shocks a bit and "loosen" the front rear shock to try and control the tippy filling I am getting? My front shocks have adjustments on them with a simple knob no wrenching involved but the rear shocks are a diff story, hos do I adjust it?
I know adjustments are a personal feeling thing but I want to try something.
Thanks,
Oh here's a good story, this past Saturday I'm traveling down a trail in Northern WI doing about 50mph on the above mentioned sled and the left ski came off! The main bolt completely made its way loose and fell out. Anyone ever see this?

Wow, you got lucky. So many bad things could of happened by losing that ski going that fast. You said it made its way loose, does that mean there was no cotter pin in the end of the bolt? Between the lock nut and the cotter pin, that scenario should not of happened. Glad you didn't get hurt....

A family friend just did almost the same thing - I wasn't able to make it to the dealership to pick up my Venture after it was in for maintenance, so this friend offered to pick it up for me. When he returned, he had a 2011 Apex on the trailer next to my Venture. I asked him why he decided to buy a new machine - he said "because I had an extra spot on the trailer", LOL!
