Congratulations to Jim Rogers, Orange Boy Racing Team, and ALL others involved. we meet these guys in ohio alittle over a year ago when they were still struggling, these guys were a class act, and their equiptment was flawless. but they were having trouble bringing it all together, going threw some off the same problems we had when we were first getting starting, i'm very happy to hear that they kept with it and have worked as hard and as long as we did to break into the infamous 7 second club. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! these guys have really come along way and should be extremely proud of what they just accomplished!!!!!! for all of those who thought that it was so easy to do since we had a turbo... jim and orange boy are the proof that the turbo had nothing to do with it. it takes alot more than just power, it takes alot of hard work, dedication, and countless hours of testing to properly harness the power that drives these sleds down the track. i'm actually kind of glad that our record got beat, especially by a two stroke!! now all the whinners have just lost their (yeah but its got a turbo excuse) and its good for the snowmobile industry. it feels good to have the target off of our backs and on to theirs, lol. it makes it more fun when you have something to shoot for.

new world record is a 7.84 at 167 mph.
yamaha still owns the 170 mph world record in the 1/4 mile.

WOW.
That's haulin. Congratulations is right!!! Do you know any particulars of thier sled Jeff. How big of a two stroke did it take to run that quick? Any n20 on it. Looking at their ET versus MPH they most definitly have it together. ;)! ;)! Of course you still share the target due to your MPH :tg:

here is what i saw posted on am snow in the racing section.

I spoke with Jim and his crew late into the night as they all were still and rightfully on a highest of highs. For those who do not know this project took years of dedication only a passionate racer would do. With only his agenda on the table Jim built this sled from scratch using only the best. No expense was spared and IMO this is how the high HP sleds will evolve as the funny car type that these ET's and speeds command of a chassis for safety. Jim and his crew of Hal, Larry, Lou and I am sure a few others invested considerable time into making this all come together. All summer long night after night I spoke with Jim there he was in his shop working away til late in the night. Every weekend while I went out racing he was there working in his shop. Even these last 5 weeks making the long trek from Guelph to Milan they worked their butts off and now can smile knowing they accomplished what they set out to do and then some. A very consistent piece to this puzzle is Mr Paul Austin. From everything they have told me and I think many know this already this man is the real deal, as smart as they come and as knowledgable as they come. They all could not say enough about how he has helped extended his hospitality and contributed in ways only the Orange Boys will know. I have only met Paul once at Milan and he provided me some pointers that helped my sled immediately. This is the true ambassador to the sport someone willing to help make someone esle go faster. Lastly Jim has a full video of the entire day and once they figure out how to post it everyone will see all the passes and the great day they had at the track. Congrats again it could not have happened to a more deserving group.

i saw someone posted it was a 1643cc engine, but that really doesn't matter to me. having excessive horsepower just makes the job harder as i have found out in our new sled. our old sled was quicker and faster with 75 less horsepower. its really about the science of putting the power you have too the ground and these guys are now part of the exclusive 7 second club!!! jeff

here i a picture of the sled.

Nice to see a great team having success on the race track. It's great for the sport to have yet another team joining the 7s club.
