how's everyone doing tonight?...

I just found this sight the begining of the week, lot of great info here! I will be picking up my new Phaser FX on saturday! :jump: But don't tell my wife that I know this, it's supposed to be a suprise for my birthday.

Why did I want a Phaser? Well let me tell you a story... I'm in south central PA and have been sledding, off and on for about 20 years, but just spent last week on my first trip to West Yellowstone. We did two days in the park on the Arctic Crap four-strokes (no turbo and a top speed of about 50 mph). Then we had 4 days of play time so everone got the sleds they wanted, most got the standard AC 570's two others got crossfire 800's and I wanted to try one those goofy looking phasers. So the guide rolls me out a phaser mountain lite... coooool!

It took me a few minutes to get used to it, but I fell in love real quick. Although not a "trail" sled (the mountain version), those guys on the crossfires were not getting away from me in the twisties. On the old airport runway it could smoke the 570's easily. And it really pulled off the line, never thought a 500cc four-stroke could feel this good! Some boondocking, hill-climbing, good air, and learning to carve was so much fun on this little sled. One day me another guy switched sleds and I rode his 800, yeah it had a lot more power at certain rpms, but after about fifty miles I could start to feel it in my back, the upright riding position of the phaser kept me and my back comfortable the whole time. And when the trail turned to washboard, just stand up and no problems just let the sled go nuts soaking up the bumps. I put over 500 miles on that phaser in 4 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Only had one morning when it was hard to start, it sat out all night and the temp got down to about -40 F. But once it warmed up a little in the morning, think it had gotten up to around -25 F she fired right up. It never gets anywhere near that cold anywhere I normally ride.

Anyway, sorry to go on like that, just never thought I would like this sled from the first time I saw one. I will be taking my new phaser to Maine in two weeks to break it in, just hope the snow holds or they get some more till then.

The Phaser is a whole different world from my old strut suspension v-max 600. Just got to call ahead and find a yami dealer that will do a quick oil change and once over after that first 100 miles. It'll be tough not wanting to grab a handful of throttle for a while, but I think I'll manage. ;)!

Have a good evening everyone!

Well happy bday to you. What a nice wife. Enjoy the sled. I myself stumbled along this web site a while ago. There are many smart informational people on this site very willing to help. I only wish they would send me some snow. Maybe we should all go in on a snow making machine. Enjoy the new FX!
