IIRC, Yamaha started using glue to put frames together on streetbikes like 5 years ago.
It actually is a sound construction method applied by some exotic sports cars as mentioned previously.
Also, the rush was not "rushed" into production. This idea came out at least a year ago, and I am sure the chassis has been tested quite a bit.

could you imagine yourself jumping a few feet of the ground then once you land it all falls APART!!! having to pick up all the peices and bringing them to your dealer in a cardboard BOX!!!
