Today I was able to get out on the trail after having the 136 fully clipped quiet track installed. No more track noise. The only noise I here at lower speeds is the chain and gears. I am not sure if that noise was there last year or is the chain too loose?

Nice post. I read most if not all of the other threads on this. Makes sense.
The fact that quiet tracks are available, is a little like saying other tracks are noisy. So this is like a vendor problem to Yamaha even though they specified some of the design

I hope the noise does not come back after the new slides wear down. I also put the Ohlin rear shock on. The stock shock had no life left in it.

Good for you but like you said I would wait and see what happens when the slides wear down as this seems to be when the problem surfaces. For your sake I hope you found the solution. As for the chain noise if it is within the required tightness specks I would say it was probarbly there before and you just didn't hear it. The more noise you get rid of the more new ones you will hear as the machine after all does make some sound.

The noise on my RX-1 was not there from the beginning and I suspect that with my fresh hyfax it will not be there at the beginning of this year either.
