Not Fast Enough

Someone posted a black '12 Apex like new with 2.3K miles on it for 5K early in the week on CL (MAINE). I was at work when I saw it and was thinking how am I going to empty my trailer of all the kids college furniture and get this damn thing. By the time my shift was over it was gone. Moral of the story, have cash ready, HAVE TRAILER READY, be prepared to FAKE A FAMILY EMERGENCY and leave work when you see a smokin' deal. Congrats to whoever snagged it.

Looks like it was scooped up by a flipper or the guy came to his senses and pulled the add. It's back on CL for 6,800. Not such a deal.

I had a similar experience with happy outcome. I think it was 2018 just cruising the snowmobile add world I see a 13 Apex XTX with 1k miles for sale for 6900 about a grand below going KBB of the time with in a few hrs of my home.
I call he says ya come on over and see it. So I drive a few hrs and it’s MINT but has Massive windshield ( Sasquatch TYer) has now and after market bush league mirrors roughly drilled through side panels.
THe guy after I hand him the cash, tells me he doesn’t know why we weird Yamaha guys ( Polaris Banners in garage and a couple Poos parked inside) like to ride these HEAVY BEASTS-“ Heck I bought this for my wife for the power steering and she hates it, says every time I let go of the throttle it gets squirley.
THen when I was nice and just smiled he starts to further his ‘laugh at me’ by saying you gave me FULL price, I’ve never had that happen before bla bla bla -as I drive the sled up the ramp it turns 1k miles.
I ask if he has ever driven a manual transmission car, ‘SURE’ well remember how it would decelerate and load the front of the car when you get off the gas….he says ya, I smiled and said thats called compression braking, 4 strokes sleds do that…..thanks GOOD BYE.

Now my wife LOVES that sled for the power steering and ‘umph’ she calls it. Oh and its ‘pretty’.

I didn’t need the sled, but we love it and its not going anywhere but down our trails with a smiling family member on it.
Sorry so long …..just happy memories
