NYTRO GAUGE SWAP?

Just curious would the Apex gauge draw more power from the Nytro system than the stock gauge?.
Power draw should be very close to the same as a FX Nytro. Control modules draw very little amperage, unless they are directly controlling a load.
In the case of the gauge it only needs enough power to display information and communicate with the ECU. ;)!

The Apex guage works fine on my Nytro, the only thing that doesn't work is the clock when you turn the sled off it resets the clock.

Did you have to modify the wiring? If so, what colour goes to which terminal? Details please.

if someone could post the pin out, you could find the wire that needs power to provide power to the memory for the clock. then we are 100% go for launch. ski

It's a straight plug-in, no need to rewire anything. Your tach will be off though so you'll need figure out how to adjust it. I have an RB3 on mine so I can adjust it using my laptop.

B+ pin is the one in the upper LH corner. Next to the Red/white, and above the Chocolate wires.
I'm hoping that the Vector GT EFI guage will not require a needle/rpm adjustment like the Apex guage does. Since they would both be 3 cylinder engines. Just waiting for someone that has access to both types of sleds to try! ;)

Are you talking 2010 Vector or an 09?

The wiring diagram I was using is for the 09 GT (EFI). I would assume that the 2010s would be wired the same way. Usually they use the same wiring harness from year to year.Unless there has been a significant change to that model, ie engine change, carb to EFI, etc.
I didn't have a chance to check the Apex diagram yet. However since we know the Apex guage will "plug and play", that tells me that the pin locations match the Vector GT and FX Nytro. Which the exception that the Nytro dosn't have a B+ wire.

I posted it on the Yamaha Blog and asked Chris Reed if he knew if the 09+ Vector guage would work on a Nytro. Just waiting for his reply...

So anyone figure out how to get the tach to work accurately on a apex gauge?...........

You would need a 2010 Vector gauge or a 2009-2010 Venture GT gauge to make this work from a vector.

who's got the part numbers for the 10 vector, or 09-10 venture???

can we get the clock to work right with these guages for sure? ski
