I need some help. I just took the sled nytro xtx 2013 for its first ride since installing this performance kit. I don't know what is wrong. "full hindle, pc5, airbox mod, and clutch kit for this".
Sled feels really sluggash, no throttle response. barely hit 70mph. It could always hit mid 90's stock . The best way to describe it is it feels like a 440-500cc liquid cooled machine. Rpms are in the low 7000"s. This sled ran strong before. I did notice when I installed the weights they were tighter, I used the 2 plastic washers that the stock weights had. I Know something is wrong . All help appreciated. thanks

Did you wrap the secondary spring correctly when you changed the helix? Thats the only thing that could be causing a problem like that.

Did you wind the helix 120* and then install the helix? Its pretty hard to do with one person, theres quite a bit of tension when you turn it to install. Im not sure how to explain it properly.
but if you just put the spring in the correct holes, and then pushed the helix right on the seconday without twisting it that 120 degrees first, as soon as you accelerate the belt will drop in the secondary and it will be like you are starting in 4th gear.
How does it idle, if you are running on 2 cylinders it will sound like crap and only be idling at 1000rpms or so, on the verge of stalling.

I've never run Daves new clutching, but that's mostly likely the issue...you should be pulling at least 9000 rpm. Don't worry Frankie, we'll get ya sorted out and then you can feel the freight train

I had a really hard time with the helix, I put it on then rotated it to the first set of ramps. it took all my strength. next ,I just checked plugs one by one. unplugged pto side wouldn't go. unplugged opposite side wouldn't go.
unplugged center it would idle the same with as if it were plugged in. put new plug in the center same no difference. Idle is about 1600 rpm with center plug plugged in or not .
Next thing I did unplug power commander , throttle response a little better. not much of a change plugged in or out. its sounds like a stock phaser 4 stroke. don't know what else to check. I tried to post a video clip but its to large. ill try again once I shrink it.

Any other things to check, I also have no engine codes flashing. only when I disconnected spark plug. This a great site and appreciate the help, hoping to get this figured out.

yes, Dave also been helping, responds quickly. I just figured a lot of people have this set up and could give some info on some of the issues and a possible fix.

Did you get you connector back on the sensor in the air box. Not sure if it would throw a code if it wasnt plugged in though. Also if put you clutch back to stock you could see if it was clutching or a engine issue just watch out it should get to the rev limiter easy with stock clutching.
So have you confirmed its only running on 2 cylinders?

You mean the sensor plug on the side just above the clutch on the outside of airbox. That plug is connected. Without it plugged in it gave an error code 20 or 30 something.
Could the airbox itself have a significant impact on a individual cylinder.
As for clutching never got to that part yet. If the engine were producing the power with a designed clutch kit for it, a person would think the rpms should be close. Just a guess on my part though.

nope not yet, I trying to diagnose. I didn't drive it with center cylinder plug disconnected, only when it was plugged in. Not sure how it would run with center plug wire off, but when at idle there is no difference plugged in or not. The sled wont start with the center cylinder running combined with either one side . It will start on idle on two outside cylinders.
Is there an easy way to diagnose, if it were stock I could tell the difference in sound along.
