Dont buy expensive Yamaha or Excel rear idler wheels to replace the failed wheels in your skid that have the bearings molded into the wheel. Buy used wheels from an SXR, SRX, SX, Viper or Venture rear skid and take the gray or black plastic inserts out of them. The wheels are the same diameter and have the same bearing as the Nytro wheels but, the bearings are replaceable.

A used wheel with how many years/ revolutions on it, the bearing could be shite tomorrow.
I know what I'm buying- 1 time & done.
Like going to a pick -n- pull yard, those parts are great until a month down the road and your back to square one taking it apart looking for another fix. No thanks.

I am not saying that what I am doing is better than what other are doing. I am just saying it is cheaper and I don't mind taking the bearings out, cleaning them and repacking them because I get enjoyment out of working on mechanical things. The wheels I choose are the best of what the vendor has, I don't let them give me whatever they pull. Sometimes a little extra effort saves money, gives enjoyment and produces a result that is long lasting. The other thing it does is teach my boys value and how to work on things with their hands instead of sitting in front of a screen killing zombies on a play station.

Key point here is thatvmy boys learned value, how to work on mechanical things, how to think outside the box and how to deal with a vendor. I will put the time in to do this everytime vs. Just buying something online so my boys learn what the real world is all about and how to navigate it. Plus, I love getting my hands dirty!!! I think that is half the reason most of you are on this site -you what to learn something new that gives you an eexcuse to go and get your hands dirty. I know that's alot of why I am in here!!!
