Took her out tonite on her maiden voyage for a bit to try and get the feel of her. I am coming off of a 2006 Polaris Fusion 700 and owned a 03 REV 600 HO before that. The Nytro far exceeds the other two in the rough stuff period end of story. I found my self pulling off the trail looking for stuff to hit and it was AMAZING how it handled the bumps with the exception that the front seemed a bit stiff and I occasionally got a slight kickback in the rear, I have not tried any adjustments at all yet.

The FLOATS are set at about 86 psi, I weigh around 300# and this is too stiff, am think of backing em down to 70psi and see what I've got. The rear seems pretty good with the exception of the occasional kickback, I have the springs cranked all the way up and it feels pretty good, I will know more when I am able to ride it a bit more aggressively as I get to know it a bit. I felt that it seemed a bit top heavy in the turns, seemed when rode hard into a corner she wanted to roll over a bit. When I had my REV I found it LOVED allot of body english and this is the same deal, it really like your #*$&@ hanging off the seat to carve. I am wondering if the body roll is being exaggerated (sp) by having the front shocks set too stiff?????

The running board width and traction is awesome, i have hated the narrow boards on my Fuse since I bought the damn thing, they are the way they should be on the NYTRO.

Power wise it is hard to judge yet because my track was ratcheting wich surprises me, doesn't look that loose. I have about 1"-1.5" of sag from the rail when the rear of the machine is picked off the ground, I run probably 2" sag on my Fusion with no ratcheting. Will tighten her up a bit and give it another whirl. It wasn't ratcheting when I first started my ride and when it hooked it felt quite lively to say the least, my problem was traction.

In only a short 30 mile ride I must have 30# of ice in my tunnel, not too impresseed with this, might need to fab me up a plate like I see a few of you have done on here.

Temperature was 0 deg, handwarmers are nothing to brag about but I wasn't cold either, might try the spray foam trick.

I miss the guages on my Polaris, little things like max speed/rpm recall, dual trip meter, time display and hour meter are nice once you've had them, Yamaha is lacking here a bit but they are functional the way they are, I'm just a little spoiled.

I got about 12.3 mpg, I am guessing this will get better as it gets broken in???? With roughly a 7 gallon tank I will get around 84 miles till I'm empty, about the same as I get out of 11 gallons on my Poo. I didn't ride that hard tonite though, am hoping the mileage doesn't drop any when I start to wick it up a bit or my range is going to get pretty small.

Overall for a first ride I am pretty impressed so far, I need to do some tweaking but that is to be expected. I love the exhast note it has, just makes me smile  . Cannot believe how smooth this thing is, it's like your riding on a cloud, far and away from my paint shaker Fusion. Not much vibration to speak of.

good write up.

as far as the ice build up if you aren't running studs you can remove the tunnel protectors. That is supposed to get rid of most of the ice build up. Others say spray some pam on the protectors and the inside of the tunnel. Not sure if that works or not will have to ask on here.

The mileage will get better depending on how hard you ride i have gotten 100-120 miles to a tank depending on how hard i run the throttle.

Hand warmers won't get better. but i have had two people that i ride with that use the FX nytro (dumbo Ears) is what we call them. they slip right over the hand guards and that helps a lot.

Lowering the PSI in the fronts should take away a little of the rolling sensation. It is a sled however that needs to have english put into her. Good luck with it.

You said you have 1 to 1.5 inches of sag in your track. Is that when you push down on it or is it acctually hanging off the rail on it's own?

This sled does require a lot of body english (maybe a lot is too strong, but more than a little). A friend of mine who rides much harder than I do took mine out the other night and came back smiling. As he put it "put your knee on the outside of the plastic when leaning into a corner and hang to that side, you can do some sick stuff I'm telling you!" I've experienced what hes talking about, my knees just may be too beat up to do it the way the sled is supposed to be ridden. Nice write up!

That was on it's own and am guessing thats why it was slipping, tightened it up tonite and now have 1/2" or so with no pressure. It is allot tighter then I am used to for sure. Dropped the front psi to 70 and put foam in the bars. Riding again Saturday, will update then.
