Is there a thread that shows what to do? I heard this sled is harder to do than the Vector? Also are the K&N filters any good?

Yes, there is a thread on oil changes. Click here for link to FAQ and look under the Fluids heading for a thread on oil changes.schroon said:Is there a thread that shows what to do? I heard this sled is harder to do than the Vector?

I use the K&N part number KN303 usually, but will probably switch to the purolator model now, although i dont remember the model number off hand. Purolator's are great filters, and MUCH cheaper.

I thought the K&N filter number was KN 204 for the Apex, according to their site.

You had asked about filters and I ran across this site and I think you might find it interesting. Let me know what you think.

You are right, it is KN204 those are what I use. The KN303 is for the RX1.

- None, looking now!
I run the Amsoil filter and oil. I can't remember the part number right now tho. I've used Amsoil stuff for quite awhile now, I love their stuff.

Yup you're right, my bad. Was thinking of the R6 and the old RX1

Also the KN204 and KN303 are the same threads and everything, same diameter. The 204 is just 5mm shorter than the KN303. If the KN303 will fit, run that.

The Snow D.O. - thanks for posting that web page which reviewed oil filters. I was surprised to see it slaming Yamaha filters. I'm about to change mine and just assumed a Yamaha filter would be a decent filter. I think I use Fram on my truck to....gotta find some new brands!
