I have a yamadoo with a vector turboed engine. I ran the engine in a vector chassis with the same setup last year. I have changed a few things, mainly the oil tank and the oil overflow/water separator/thingy to a mpi oil tank and mpi aluminum overflow/water separator thingy. I can't beleive that would be causing the problems I am having with it slowly pumping out oil from the overflow. The overflow thing is mounted higher in the sled than last year and I am wondering if this could be a problem. Also the mpi one is actually smaller than the stock one.

I had this problem last year when I over filled the oil tank but this year I thought it was the same and it wasn't because it ran out till the light came on.

Either way i need help I can't have this spewing oil till the light comes on? What are some options?

hmmmm

FYI lowered compression with head shim and changed cam timing to powderlites specs. I have not check the compression but it runs like a top, best it has ever ran for me. I am very happy with that. Power is much more linear and I have the bov working how I want it finally.

I did some searching last night and found a old past from powderlites explaining that the nipple(vent) on the mag cover has only a .080 hole in it. So I should really not be using that for a return from the oil separator/breather thing. I am going to just put a long hose on that and route it up to the top of the sled, and then put a nipple in the timing sight hole plug to drain the oil back. I am sure I am getting more blow by this year do to the decrease in valve overlap and the fact that I didn't gas port the pistons like pl reccommends. I hope that this fixes the problem.

FYI, I am running a bit more boost this year as well.

How does it run! Too bad were losing our snow now!! You needed that thing out about 2 weeks ago when all the trail sleds were scared to go out! I went out and it was deep around here!

runs

It runs real good, The power is very good compares to last year I think. I have the abiltiy to jet it down with the turn of a knob now on my pitot tube. So It is easy to make adjustments. I am running right at 9-10lbs of boost here right now and it pulls like a frieght train. It really is not a wheelie monster though. I have the suspension setup very well to control the power to the ground.

Yeah we did have alot of snow around here. . . . now it is raining. O well we are going to Island Park next tuesday so it should be fun. If things don't work out with the vector or I have troubles I have a brand new prormk as a back up. So not to shabby. I wish I had about 100 more miles on the sled before we left.
