2018 X-TX with 5200 on the clock. Clipping down the canal yesterday at about 45-50 (yeah slow I know!). Sled was running at about 168 steady temp. Stopped for a crossing and when I started back up to speed I got the red light. No code, no limp mode or shut down. Light stayed on for what seemed like forever but was about 3 minutes then went out and did not come back on the 20 or so miles back. Oil is fresh and level is spot on.

What filter? How long had you been riding when it came on?
What oil?
Have seen one 998 that had bad oil sending unit.

I was out about 20 minutes. Sled has been running fine completely stock with oe filter and recommended oil. Other thing of note, when I started the sled tonight the screen was lighted but blank and all 4 indicator lights including high beams remained illuminated. After 30-40 seconds the read out started and all indicators but the temp i turned off until it warmed up then that went off as it should.
