Well I installed a heat gauge on my sled back in the fall, rode last year in some warm weather never had the temp light on at all, the only time
I have seen it on was when the sled had been idling for like a while and shut off by itself. Anyway when I was riding on the weekend it was warmer out and the trails were not the greatest but some were really good. Sometimes the temp gauge was usually around 190 but was going up to 218 at times then I hit some good powder and had the heat gauge reading 243 degrees farenheight. At what temp does the heat light come on? It never came on at all, maybe my gauge isn't reading right I don't know. Usually it reads around 180 never seen it that high before, have put on 1300 km this year with no issues. Anyone have any advice I'm leaving in a couple days for a sled trip.

My light comes on at 220 degrees. I drilled some 1/4" holes in the top gauge mount panel, seemed to help a bit.

The MTX cooler works well especially in the powder. With the MTX cooler and side panel vents my sled is in the 160s on the trail and moving slow in the powder.

Have you checked your coolant mix? Or do you know what it is?

That's the thing I have never seen it get that hot before I'm usually running 175 the warmest is usually 190. I am running 50/50 antifreeze which I changed 1300 km ago. The thing is my heat gauge read all the way up to 245 or whatever but my temp light didn't come on at all.

is the temp sensor in a spot where it could have an air pocket in it ? reason i ask i just had a customer come in complaining of the same thing on there Polaris sled and all it was was the sensor needed the adapter turned upside down so the sensor was submerged in coolant all the time instead of the steam from hot coolant which can give a false reading
