I'm planning to extend my Apex in the summer to 144. Still undecided about the track to use. I'm looking at the Camoplast Crossover in 1.5 inch. Has anyone here used it? I do a fair amount of of trail riding so the crossover seems to be a good choice on paper. I think I am going to go with a 1.5 inch lug. 1.75 seems a bit high for the trail riding I do plus I really don't want to start taking out tunnel protectors. I would also probably put a few studs in it for the hard packed stuff.

Just put one on my Attak. I am impressed! In the 144 length I have it works well. rode about 200 miles on trail and another 100 or so in DEEP off trail and except for my ham handed efforts at throttle control did well. This clip shows some of my oopsies

Looks like you were having a blast Dave. I had one of those pesky trees bite me last week as well. Stops you pretty quick.

YUP! We were definitely having a blast! The full video gives you a better idea how steep that was. First trip with Expert X 136 set back for 144. Once I get the shocks dialed in I am done modding. Tracks and rides great on trail. And with the set back the track angle is FLAT!! Climbs on top of the fluff really well. Geared it 21/38 on Ulmer's reccomendation and it has plenty of snap and still pulls over 100 on the DM. I may get another drive axle with 8 tooth drivers and a 2'+ plus track for out west trips, but for UP and Wisconsin riding this setup works!!

I'm doing my research now for this summer. Right now I'm geared 23/40. Not sure if that will be too much or not. I'll be getting the extension kit from Allan. Just trying to decide running on the track. Are you using extrovert drivers as well? I think the 9 inch with the 1.5 will be plenty for the terain I ride in.

No on the extro's. Doesn't ratchet with the Expert. Ulmer sells Hartman I believe. That is where my tunnel extension came from. It's a nice piece and is very stout. I also put a Mountain Mod seat on it. Alrady had Powderhounds. I also added a Rox 4-51/2 adjustable riser. Mod's all add up to a great boondocker that can still be trail ridden

Does the stock exhaust seat still fit the Mountain Mod seat? I wouldn't mind getting a bit higher in the seat. I am doing the same type setup in the long run. Allan has Tracks USA rail extensions, not sure on the tunnel.

YUP, stock exhaust fits. I had a hauck Mountain setup for one trip (same exit as stock). but took it off. Lots lighter but it was too loud for where I ride. Might throw it on when I go out west though. Picked up about 300 rpm with it installed. Allen's rail extensions are TracksUSA, and I am fairly sure the tunnel one's are from Hartman. GO FOR IT!! You won't regret it.

Thats the plan. Just looking on Mountain Mods site now as well. Is the seat much higher than stock?

Maybe 2". I did it for weight removal and it has a narrower top and stiffer foam. Doesn't sack out like the Yamaha seat. I replaced my Attak seat with a Nytro seat and it was good for about 50-75 miles and would start to pack down. Liked it a LOT more than the stock Attak seat.

Yes, but you'll have a little work to do. Mine was used and 2 yrs. old, so he might have changed his seat pan. Had to add a wiring harness and cut the seat pan in the rear to mount the light. Took longer than I thought, but turned out well. and when you add the Hartman extension, you'll have to trim the plastics out so they fit. I wish I had taken pics as I went but was trying to complete this thing while we still had snow. Only 2 trips this yr. with another in 1 1/2 weeks.

Cool thanks Dave. I only have about 150 miles on mine this years as well. I may look into getting my stock seat re-foamed as well to give a bit more height and to stiffen it up a bit.

Track
I had the crossover on mine - I got the setup from Hartman with rail extensions, tunnel extension etc - it worked really well for most conditions and did help in the deep snow - i never put the extroverts on though and i did have it ratchet if it got loose.
